Over the years, I've learned a few simple rules to life, that work well for me. By applying these guidelines has made my life so much better. Some I've gotten from my own mistakes, others by friends, and relatives. By applying them to as many aspects in my life, I've made better choices, and feel good about who I am.

So here are a few of the things I've learned, and how they changed my life. I've tried to adopt these ways of thinking, to help me grow, and be a better person. These are just some of the things that I live by, and more will be added as I learn, and apply them to life.

Life is simple. As simple as that is to read, it's not that easy to apply. After a time I got tired of the drama. So many things could have been avoided if common sense was just applied. Life is only as complicated as you allow it to be. Any problem you could possibly have, just strip down all the bullshit, and look at all angles. You'll be suprised at how simple things are to solve, or just let go, if you remember life is simple.

Be happy with what you have. Now I can't claim to have come up with this. The first time that made sense to me was watching Katt Williams on DVD. Being happy with what you have does not mean you don't want better. Being happy about that, means you can appreciate what it took to get to that place. There is nothing wrong with wanting to do better for yourself, but if you can't be happy with what you've got now, you'll never be satisfied with what you get.

Don't worry about money. Unless you're a millionaire, money is gonna always be on your mind, it's inevitable. I used to stress myself out over money for years, and while I don't know how much of a physical stress all that caused me, I do know that mentally and emotionally it drained me. Then I met some one who put it out there just like that. "Don't worry about money." I didn't understand at first, but when I let it sink in, and thought okay, I won't worry as much.

Things started falling into place. My money situation went up and down a few times, but it started to settle, and all of a sudden, money would show up when I least expected it. I stopped worrying on how I was going to make it from week to week. When I stopped, I started making it every week just fine, never running out of money. I just don't let it get to me anymore.

Sometimes you need to be faster than Mother Nature. I'm not a pyschologist, but I know that in the course of our life time we change. It varies between everyone, but it's natural. Occasionally we fall into a rut. If you're lucky, nature will be quick about it. Sometimes though it seems like you're just stuck. That's when you have to decide, make a conscious decision to change. It won't always happen right away. It'll be hard, and you'll have to work at it, and even if you fail a couple of times, it can't get any worse. What's the harm in trying.

Have a little faith. I'm not a religious person. I have a major disdain for organized religion. (More explination to come later.) But sometimes you just have to have faith. For me it's not really about "God", or "Christ". I have faith in myself, I have faith in people. Just believe in something, whatever it is, it's something you can hold on to you when thing are tough. I know that for me, no matter how bad things get, I can do something to fix it.

Don't be afraid of something new.. In a few short years, I've learned in my mind 3 complex jobs. The first was as a quality control inspector, a waffle house waitress, and internet tech support. Each time I took the job, I had absolutely no clue as to what I was doing. I did it anyways, I suffered through the hard parts, got through the mediocre parts, and actually excelling above and beyond. I've learned a great deal from each of these. I'm really glad that I wasn't too scared to try something new.
