My inspiration for the layout obviously is "Memoirs of A Geisha." I took forever for me to actually see the movie. This year actually, and I just feel in love with it. It's a wonderful movie, and so beautiful. Everyone in that movie was excellent.
The layout was one I created years ago, back when I had sweet-misery.net. It was always based on an a image map navigation, and it's just the easiest to do with this frame set. I use standard css, which is viewable in 5 different browsers versions, on Windows & Mac. I also use Firefox add on html validator to check my code.
I actually write out all my code in notepad, and ws_ftp to upload the site. I've been using these since I started making websites.
Thanks to Google for the images I used. I used Photo Shop to actually edit the graphics/create them. For the image maps I used PSP 7. The brushes were from various sites, linked here.
